Fernando Gonzalez


Fernando Gonzalez is an extremely popular tennis player from Chile. He was born in Santiago, Chile, and currently resides in La Reina, in Santiago. Fernando is known for having one of the hardest forehands in tennis. In Chile, his nicknames are “El bombardero de La Reina”, which means “The Bomber of La Reina”, and “Mano de Piedra”, meaning “Stone hand”. (Gonzalez Wikipedia)
Fernando Gonzalez began playing tennis at age seven. Not long after that, he established himself as best in the world. In 1999, at age 18, Fernando Gonzalez became a professional tennis player. He continued to have abundant success among tennis players. Then, in 2006, Gonzalez received a great honor. He is so talented, in fact, that he went to the finals in the Australian Open, only to lose to Roger Federer. Fernando Gonzalez is also the only tennis player in history to win each Olympic medal: gold, silver, and bronze. During his tennis career, Gonzalez has won matches against people like Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and other amazing tennis players. This fact alone shows how great of a tennis player he is. He has also qualified not once, but twice for the Masters Cup.
